Describe your job in couple of sentences:
I run a school of complementary therapy to teach absolute beginners Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology and Body Massage, from there and open to all qualified therapists, I teach a wide range of additional advanced massage modalities to enhance their existing practice. I have been a practitioner myself for 25 years.
When did you know what you wanted to do?
Did you go to university, go straight into the workforce or do an apprenticeship?
I went to college and then into work, I have continued to study and work in my chosen field ever since

Diploma Theatre Studies – Acting
Level 3 Complementary Therapies (over 20 modalities)
Cert Ed Teaching Qualification
Kundalini Yoga Teacher
What was your first job:
Drama Youth Worker
Social Activities Organiser in a residential home for older people
Does it relate to what you do now?
In some ways yes. It’s different, but my Drama School Training definitely supports my teaching ability
Have you done other jobs in your life – if so what were they:
Manager of a Jazz Club in Hong Kong
Did they have any influence on what you do now?
Everything interweaves; Customer service, organization, presentation skills. I have always had a keen interest in the healing and performing arts.
How did you find out about your job (how it existed)?
I created it from a job I had teaching for other academies and I also teach at a Further Education College
How did you get the job you wanted- steps and process?
I wasn’t satisfied waiting for others to create the work for me and waiting for the phone to ring to book me. So I decided to take the steps to become the owner of my own school.
What qualities do you need to have to be successful in your field?
Ability to communicate

Give 3 tips for someone hoping to follow in your footsteps:
Get qualified in lots of modalities and practice a lot, so that you know subject
Qualify as a Teacher AET and above
Teach for some small academies to get experience
